All products are made with love and passion and we aim to produce quality pet furniture that is durable and aesthetically pleasing.

Rattan bed made by Indonesian craftsmen

Jelico’s rattan beds are produced in Indonesia by skilled craftsmen. Each bed is uniquely woven by hand using traditional weaving techniques. The raw materials which includes rattan, water hyacinth and cane are all naturally grown within the forests of Indonesia and harvested by hand. Rattan is a lightweight fabric that is easy to clean and very durable.

EXCEPTIONAL QUALITY

All fabrics and materials are carefully selected to ensure product is functional and above all durable. Every material from the inside of the foam cushion to the coating on the bamboo is carefully selected to ensure the finished product is of exceptional quality.

Bamboo is one of the fastest growing plants and unlike hardwoods it is a renewable resource. It is also a very strong, durable material that is more resistant to moisture than wood. Cleaning bamboo is also very easy as it can easily get wiped with a damp cloth.

Rattan is light weight material that is very durable and easy to clean. It also retains its appearance through multiple wear and tear.

All of our cushions are made from upholstery fabrics that are resistant to stains and easy to clean. Some fabrications are finished with a Teflon coating whilst others are made from Outdoor or Fibre Guard fabrication. Fibre Guard is a trusted fabric quality label, which represents a convenient solution to carefree easy living. Inside cushions are made from high resilient foam and all cushions are removeable to wash.

All bamboo beds are finished with a natural non-toxic coating and hardener that protects the beds against natural wear and tear.

SUSTAINABLITY

We are committed to moving towards a more sustainable future by using mostly natural materials such as bamboo and rattan as well as materials made from recycled plastic bottles.

Bamboo is one of the fastest growing plants and unlike hardwoods it is a renewable resource. Bamboo can grow up to 90cm per day. It requires little maintenance to farm as it doesn’t need any pesticides and very little water to grow. One of the biggest environmental benefits of bamboo is its ability to absorb carbon dioxide and produce oxygen.

Rattan regrows in just 5-7 years making it one of the most renewable resources. Manufacturing Rattan furniture is low-tech so requires no chemicals and minimal energy. It’s light weight also means lower-carbon shipping. The Rattan vine needs trees to grow on, so the communities that grow Rattan have an incentive to keep forests in place.

Felt

  •  There is approximately 15 recycled bottles per square meter of P.E.T felt. The entire process from raw material (PET bottles) to fabric is 100% local, ensuring support of the South African economy, textile industry and recycling economy.

Eco Fibre

  •  The inner cushion is filled with eco fiber made from recycled plastic bottles.
